Taipei American School

Taipei American School is known for its rigorous academic program, dynamic integration of technology across the curriculum, extensive cocurricular activities, rich history of community service in Taiwan and Asia, and signature fine arts programs. TAS offers an exemplary American-based education with a global perspective that prepares all students academically and ethically for success at university and in life in a rapidly changing world.

Founded in 1949 and accredited by WASC, TAS is an independent college-preparatory day school that enrolls 2,200 students from more than 30 countries in Pre-K to grade 12. TAS graduates continue their education at their best-fit colleges and universities, primarily in the U.S., but also in Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, Taiwan, and other Asian nations.

TAS's curriculum is based on and aligned with the very best standards and benchmarks from the U.S. The lower school (Pre-K to grade 5) provides a dynamic balanced program with particular emphasis on developing literacy skills. The middle school (grades 6-8) is an innovative interdisciplinary program. The upper school (grades 9-12) offers a full range of college-prep courses, including multiple Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, leading to a U.S. high school diploma or an IB diploma.
