Shopping

Back to normal, after all the celebrations we have had for the last months.

By now, I guess all the presents have been enjoyed and once again shopping is back on our list to do whether it's for toys, clothes or food .....

Toy shops are not prevalent in Taiwan. Toys are mainly sold at the night markets and in some special brand name shops, like Hello Kitty or Toys R Us. Some bookstores carry some educational toys and books for children however the books are of course mostly in Chinese.

Clothes can be found all around the cities, from the night markets to the most luxurious shopping centers with international brand names. For Western ladies, I need to warn you that you might have a hard time finding your size - Asian ladies are in general shorter and slimmer than we are.

Groceries are sold around the clock in Taiwan. If you are looking for a specific Western product you need to visit the international food chains, like Carrefour and Costco. Smaller specialty shops cater for some specialty items and the Organic shops are also worthwhile checking out.
