The "2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition" is now in full bloom and Taipei has become greener!

The Mass Rapid Transit System, MRT is the fastest way to get around even though taxis are easy, accessible, safe and cheap. The Taipei Main Station is the hub for all trains, including the high-speed rail, which speeds its way to Kaohsiung in the south in just 90 minutes. Direct flights between Taipei Songshan Airport and some International destinations have shortened traveling time. With City Hall Bus Station connecting the Xinyi district with a walkway allowing quick and easy access by MRT, Taipei is now a city where you never have to walk very far to reach your destination. It's no wonder that Taipei has the cleanest air of any city in Greater China or Southeast Asia. Taipei is also known for its very low crime rate.

Taipei is most definitely a Cyber City and has blossomed into a city of 2.63 million with more than 4,000 wireless internet access points, the densest wireless coverage in the world and the largest public Wi-Fi grid.

Another claim to fame is the Taipei 101 Tower - for a while, the world's tallest building. The 508-meter skyscraper possesses the most advanced technologies such as state-of-the-art, pressurized, high-speed elevators and a 660-metric-ton damper to reduce swaying during earthquakes and typhoons. It houses offices of well-known multinationals and the most famous and luxurious brands in the adjoining shopping center.

The European - inspired shopping mall Bellavita is said to be the most luxury boutique department store in Taiwan, with top of the top brand names represented. Selected restaurants and a gourmet food hall are also to be found.

One of Taiwan's greatest attractions is the National Palace Museum, which houses over 650,000 pieces of Chinese bronze, jade, calligraphy, painting, and porcelain. The collection is so extensive that only 1% is on display at any one time.

There are many temples with Longshan Temple one of the most visited and oldest, situated in the older part of Taipei, in Wanhua district. This temple is surrounded by traditional shops selling antiques, Chinese medicine and so on, a neighborhood highly recommended for tourists.
