Taipei is constantly changing

Once again Taipei will see a major change within the hospitality industry. A new hotel, for Taiwan, is opening its doors to us. Novotel Hotels, Taoyuan International Airport, will open November 1st, 2009. A first class international hotel next to the fast growing airport is very welcome indeed. We wish them all success in their business here in Taiwan! Welcome.

Another new venue has opened in Taipei. BellaVita shopping mall has seen the light in Xinyi financial district with European brand names and high class shopping.

Before really getting into the shopping frenzy in the holiday season you may wish to enjoy some relaxing time at a beautiful beach, a nice hike in the mountain or indulge ourselves with the best food possible. Only you know what the best alternative is for you, your family and friends. Check out the current issue for some great suggestions.

If you are here for a short period of time and are heading back home, for sure you would like to bring back some gifts. Stroll around the city and, especially during evening hours, the night markets will bring endless suggestions of gifts to bring home. In case you are in a hurry and want it over and done with go to Taiwan Handicraft Promotion Center, and you will find everything possible under one roof. For those of us who are lucky to be in Taipei 28th of November, do join the Christmas shopping at the campus of Taipei European School.

Talking about shopping and food, make sure to take advantage of coupons with good discounts and benefits at some fine restaurants and bakery.

Want to explore a little bit of Taiwan? Take Taiwan High Speed Rail to Taichung, less than one hour away, and enjoy the nice city and surroundings. Plenty of museums, shopping and not the least a very pleasant climate. Not far away is Changhua County to be discovered.

For long staying "tourists" might need to look into schooling for their children. Taipei American School tells us about their curriculum in this issue.

Enjoy Taiwan!
