Museum of World Religions

Located in the Yonghe City, Taipei County, the Museum of World Religions (MWR) opened to the general public in November 2001 in order to promote knowledge and understanding of the world's religions.

MWR was designed and developed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates in conjunction with the Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard University. The museum incorporates a wealth of multimedia and interactive devices, enabling its visitors to acquire a comprehensive understanding of religious arts, literature, music, ceremonial rites and architecture.

A visit of MWR begins with the "Water curtain' through which there are many 'surprises': "Hall of Life's Journey' enables visitors to discover life's values and meanings through artifacts, sculptures, films, and interactive learning tools.; "Great Hall of World Religions' showcases the conception of each major religion; "The Great Sacred Buildings', exhibits miniatures of ten religious buildings representing appearances and styles, "Kids' Land - the Forest of Love', features a children's space devoted to life education using interactive media facilities for children to experience the true meaning of love.
