Wishing you a pleasant stay in Taiwan

The month of May generally brings beautiful sunny days to Taiwan. It is still not too hot to enjoy outdoor activities but the idea of a dip in a pleasant swimming pool becomes more and more tempting. Effectively the American Club in China (ACC) is at present offering a fantastic membership deal that is very appealing. As Mr. Brian Asmus, says: "The private member club is a luxurious haven where you can make global connections and lifelong friends in a relaxed and sociable setting". A visitor to Taiwan, member of a hometown club, may have access to the ACC through a reciprocal agreement, give the club a call and find out!

TTM, together with useful information and facts, aims to introduce visitors to special events in Taiwan. The Dragon Boat Festival, a spectacular event for both participants and spectators, will take place from the 28 to 30 May at different venues around the island. The special rice dumplings, sold on every street corner at this time, are a must for everyone to try.

When visiting in Chinese society, particularly if invited to a special occasion you may wish to bring a gift for your host. Ms Amy Liu, specialist in cross culture information, tells us what to give and what NOT to give.

Food is always fascinating for visitors and if you are keen to savor the best Peking duck there is we can guide you through the jungle of restaurants in Taipei to some of the absolutely best.

Taiwan This Month is a free bilingual magazine whose goal is to be user friendly in both size and layout while giving information in a comprehensive way. The magazine can be picked up at 4 and 5 star hotels, our advertisers, Embassies and representatives' offices, Chambers of Commerce, private museums, Taipei American School, Taipei European School and the American Club as well as China Airlines ticketing offices outside Taiwan and some big travel agents in USA and Australia.
