Gaby obtained a Bachelor degree cum laude in Translation/Interpreting from the University of Limburg in the Netherlands in the languages Dutch, English and Mandarin Chinese.

She has been in Asia since 1992 and has worked in various countries including China, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Before coming to Taiwan in 2005, her family lived on the Arabian peninsula of Qatar. She has further obtained certification as an ESL teacher and enjoys teaching Dutch as well. She has been listed as a freelance translator and language teacher by the Netherlands Trade and Investment Office in Taipei since 2005.

Gaby joined Taiwan this Month as the copy editor in December 2009.
